The last couple of days have been sleeping, reading and watching series on my Machine (Prison Break is the shit!). Aberat is shaping up to be quite a kewl book despite Clive barker's track record. It seems really fantstical and childlike (sometimes in a creepy way). iVE GOT MY GRUBBY PAWS ON SOME COOL MUSIC AND WILL HOPEFULLY BOUNCE BLISSFULLY (Damn Capslock.....) to it while I get my Portfolio updated. I'm thinking about the following themes. I'll try to do one of each.

Illustration themes
1- Horror - Zombies, Vampires, Cthuliod
2- Medieval Japanese - Geisha, Ninja, Samurai, Monks, etc.
3- Fantasy - I feel like something Foresty, like a creature or something.
4- Historic war - Like ...... A U- Boat full of eeeeevil nazi's.... maybe.
5- Steampunk - A cityscape or concept art of stuff, eg. like a automated carraige.

Oh yeah last weekend I played 14 and a half hours of Dota, It was sick. Dota is Ruining my life.
I watched "A History of violence." it was quite entertaining. The HtH combat was brutal and quick. None of the fancy crap that happens in hollywood. ( I f you step on someones neck...snap, crackle, pop. One Coffin coming right up.)
On a similar note I want a t- shirt that reads "I'm angry at the world." Then people might stop asking me stupid questions. If there is one thing that hacks me off these days, people that make statements without thinking about thier "golden nugget" of wisdom. Arrgh, considered thought seems a rarity these days............wait, this is turning into a rant. Abort. Ctr+ Alt + Del.
Ahh well. I have been chatting to mike and the Pratchett Larp (Discworld) seems to be his all consuming passion now and I'll be helpping with the props. (read making them from scratch.)
And I thought my Holidays were going to be blissful inactivity. I'm busier down here than in Cape Town, Sigh.

P.S. - I need to take up gym or martial arts again, revenge of the gut seems to just around the corner.

Chao Compadre's Till I write again.

The holiday begins here.

Ok, I haven't posted for a while but exams and varsity work kept me busy...you know how it is.
I drove to Pe tuesday night to arrive at my house ready to fall into bed when three teenage boys were sleeping in my room. My younger brother seemed to have had a get together.
One of them fell asleep next to his vomit bucket......yay. After a 4 hour nap in my Dad's room I felt kak but alive....better than the dog a hit fekaken hard on the way down. It did surprisingly little damage to my car, besides breaking a fender bracket and fucking up a indicator. The dog was nowhere to be seen, hope it was ok.....I doubt it though. I visited a friend later in the day at his gaming store and talked nonsense for two hours. I had to go to tobies (club) that night to meet Lillian, Wayne and Ellamy. God I hate that place, it turned out OK though.(The wonders of a couple of drinks.) Spent today lazing about and had dinner with my folks at the spur.(I don't get to eat steak often these days.) I started to play Tyranids and have about 1250 points worth of figures and am enjoying the painting and customising. Maybe I can get a couple of games against people here in Pe. Ah well, I have nothing further to say.

Gushing neckwound: My life as a zombie

Friday : Picked up drivers licence at Traffic department in the morning, bought stage make-up
for zombie costume, visited outer's.
Went to Land of the Dead screening as Gushing neckwound #23, recieved a mix of
reactions from the masses, won a cool Land of the Dead shirt and a bottle of Jack Daniels.
Thanks Scpat, unamed nu metro manager and Antonio. What the Hell!
I don't believe. I am a Warrior! :)

I found a module in the back of my Fae: Dark Ages Book, my run it for some noobs later in the semester.
#1 is to get 7th sea up and running....soon.

Some thoughts about campaign construction:

My last two campaigns went something like this:
1- Characters make characters with a satisfactory history.
2- The events in the charaters backgrounds become weaved into the narrative explored
in the course of the campaign.(Anchoring the Pc's in the narrative.)
3- Each character plys a brief prelude, roleplaying the events of the past.
4- All sorts of skeletons creep out of the closet upsetting what the characters considered
"fact".
5- And so on, and so forth.

In a vampire game I ran players played npc/minions during the other players prelude, thus keeping them entertained.

This approach is the same as with the 7Th sea game. Any advice?

P.S. - I schooled Conrad four games in a row. Vengeance is mine, ha ha ha!

Mr. thingy I presume?

Ya, well my first post hey. Like those intrepid explorers of a byegone age...dum dum dum. Lets Hope I have the discipline and actually post semi- regularly....I'm a bit of a lazy git.

Sitting in the labs at varsity checking out this Blog thing. Was supposed to go to lectures....blah.

Spoke to alex earlier.
His tales of interdepart-mental crazyness were amusing.
We started talking about D&D and the problems with the way people play the game. In my eyes there are two ways of looking at it:

1- A Game which altenates between the modes of Roleplaying and a boardgame/wargame. Which is cool if you get bored doing the same thing for too long. It tends to be a less formal approach (Think Beer and Pretzels.) but that really depends on the group of players.

2- Roleplayng is emphasized. While Possible I reckon this approach could find greener pastures elsewhere, since you have to ignore half the game.
(The battle board and the wargame-like rules.) The Players tend to be more "serious" in their approach.

Both have their merits, the trouble comes when players who favour one approach play with those of the other camp. Ya .... it gets messy.
The Dm should just lay down the law at the beginning of the campaign and make sure his players anderstand the way it will be played...Anyway.

Trying to get my 7th Sea Campaign going, hopefully in a week or so.
The party comprises of a bunch of degenerates and outcasts.

Seaward is playing a dandy with a taste for the lads. He wears pink silk. Tim is playing a nobleman who is on the run from the inquistion.
Conrad is playing a wenching, carousing lout of a ship's captian.
Adam is a ex-Nobleman who has been disowned by his family, wandering the world developing a strange fighting style using his twin dracheneisen gauntlets.

Still recovering from a couple of late nights the sleep dep from the weekend's LAN is still haunting me.

Played three games of DotA against Conrad yesterday. Got owned in all three games....sigh. I'm convinced the Universe is out to turn me into a finger puppet.(Ouch)

It would seem my life is pretty mundane at the moment.....nothing much to say.

Cheers Guys.
